A favorite among the kids, are the many theme and water parks of Virginia.  Busch Garden Williamsburg is fun for both the adults and kids of your family.  The theme park has plenty of food, landmarks, and entertainment from six different countries.  Enjoy Italy, England, France, Germany, Ireland and Scotland all in one park.  While at Busch Garden, visit Jack Hanna’s Wild Reserve where you can learn about many different animals.  You can also enjoy the many rides Busch Garden has to offer.  Two of the four roller coasters are in the top 25 roller coasters of the world.  If water parks are more your style, try Water Country USA.  Here you can enjoy water slides, lagoons, a free-floating river, caves and more.  The 400-acre theme park, Paramount’s Kings Dominion, offers both a water and theme park in one location.  The Paramount’s Kings Dominion houses 12 roller coasters, plus hundreds more rides, including water rides.

One of the most popular beaches that you charter bus can drop you at is Virginia Beach.  The beach is free and lifeguards are on duty from mid-May to mid-September.  Many hotels and restaurants overlook Virginia Beach on the oceanfront Boardwalk.  To stay fit on your vacation you can walk on the Boardwalk or ride a bike on the cycling paths.  Skates and bikes are available for rental in many of shops on the Boardwalk.  On almost every weekend from May to September is a free musical event.  Major sporting events also take place a Virginia Beach like the North American Sand Soccer Championship and East Coast Surfing Championships.  For the fisherman in your family try the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier or the Little Island Fishing Pier.  Near Virginia Beach is Norfolk Ocean View Beach.  Here you can rent boats, kayaks, paddleboats and jet skis.  Standing in May, there are free concerts offered.  Virginia also has river beaches where you can fish and even jewel hunt.

For the outdoors family, you must go camping in Virginia.  Virginia has more than 48 state parks and natural areas, 4 national parks, 2 national forests and hundreds of camping grounds.  Bank Camp Recreation Area in Wise, offer 25 camping units, a stocked fishing lake and water activities like boating.  Paradise Lake Family Campground located in Spout Spring, Virginia has allowances for many sports.  These sports include hiking, volleyball, softball, horseshoes, fishing, swimming, boating and much more.  Located on 44 acres in Staunton, Virginia, is Walnut Hills Campground.  There are RV hookups or cabin available.  There is a kiddy pool for the children, a pool fro the adults, a fishing lake, a play ground, volleyball and many other activities.

Another outing the family can enjoy is a trip to one of the many zoos.  Mill Mount Zoo, located in Roanoke, Virginia is home to a five-acre zoo with 50 different species of animals.  They house many unique animals like the Bald Eagle, Siberian Tiger and many others.  Natural Bridge Zoo, in Natural Bridge, has over 400 species of animals with a petting zoo, breeding are, gift shops and picnic areas.  Situated on 53-acres along Lafayette River is the Virginia Zoo.  The Virginia Zoo is home to 300 animals ranging from birds to elephants. 

So load the family in a RV or take a Charter Bus and head to Virginia, where a kid can be a kid and an adult can act like a kid too.  With all the choices in Virginia, your hardest decision will be which attraction to visit first.
